Web content management vendor Vignette Corp has reported a net loss of $0.23m for the fourth quarter 2008, compared to a net profit of $12.96m in the year-ago quarter, on revenue down 29.4% at $37.16m. It attributed the loss to $1.3m of restructuring charges incurred during the quarter.
It made an operating loss of $2.9m, compared to operating income of $3m in the same period last year. The diluted net loss per share was $0.01, compared to diluted EPS of $0.49 last year. Cash and cash equivalents was $120.4m compared to $94.2m in the year-ago quarter.
For the fiscal year it reported a net loss of $6.28m, against profit of $24.83m in 2007. Revenue declined 11.6% to $169.55m.
In all, nine new products and 10 product upgrades were released in the key areas of Web content management, social media and Web experience optimization.
