VCE has created a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure integration service for Citrix to accelerate the implementation of application and desktop virtualisation.
This has been developed for XenApp and ZenDesktop, and will provide application deployment along with an end-user virtual desktop environment. This is will include NetScaler with TriScale technology on the VCE Vblock.
The solutions will reduce risk and reduce desktop TCO to increase the ability to deploy VDI to organisations.
The partnership between VCE and Citrix has led to the expansion of VCE’s End-User Computing Services portfolio, which helps customers deploy applications and services in the cloud.
Tim Page, COO, VCE, said: "Secure mobile workspace solutions are integral in today’s business landscape but pose many IT challenges in deployment and management. VCE is committed to removing these barriers to reduce complexity for a seamless transition to VDI."
"The VCE and Citrix partnership brings together deep proven knowledge of converged infrastructure and application and desktop delivery software that allows customers to efficiently and effectively realize their goals for user-centric mobile workspaces."
Some of the features include advance testing along with virtual desktop pools and configurations and a configuration of Citrix Profile Manager that will assist in delivering a consistent user experience.
Simon Hayes, Vice President, Business Development at Citrix, said: "This new VCE service accelerates mobile workspace deployments by combining app and desktop delivery from XenApp and XenDesktop with the power of NetScaler into a complete, factory-built solution that can be quickly installed, turned on and provide faster time to value for our joint customers."
