Information management and business process outsourcing provider Vangent has won a three-year $68m contract from Mexico’s social security agency Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) to design, build, and operate a full biometric identification (ID) management system.

The company will provide ID management services to over 20 million beneficiaries through 700 enrollment centers nationwide. It will manage the entire beneficiary enrollment procedure including the distribution of ID cards equipped with beneficiaries’ full biometric information.

The contract adds to Vangent’s growing list of customers in ID Management applications, which includes the US Department of Education, the US Department of Labor, and the Office of Personnel Management. Last October, the company won a 10-year $300m contract from the US Department of Education, Office of Federal Student Aid to provide software engineering services to support technology lifecycle management.
