Universe Software has launched a new version of pdf-Office Professional which includes a JavaScript Interpreter that supports standard JavaScript functions and Adobe’s proprietary JavaScript functions, allowing users to develop and test forms with JavaScript in pdf-Office Professional.

The company claims that the pdf-Office Professional package is an intuitive software offering for creating and designing PDF data forms to be filled out by users. It supports text fields to calculations, programming in PDF forms, designing professional PDF forms, and a graphical form editor for designing forms with fields and text.

According to Universe Software, the integrated JavaScript Interpreter allows users to test actions triggered by text fields, buttons and the like. It imports JavaScript functions from existing PDF forms for further editing, allowing users to test PDF form’s functionality in test mode before distribution.

In addition, the option to create and edit bookmarks feature allows users to import and edit bookmarks from existing PDF documents and forms.

The company said that it will soon be launching a free pdf Reader software package based on pdf-Office Professional technology. The pdf-Office Professional package is available for Windows from Win98, Mac OSX and Linux.
