The Ultrabook and ultrathin PC shipments share is expected to reach 28% of the total mobile PC shipments in 2013, according to a report by IHS iSuppli.

The continuous developments in ultrathin PCs combined with decreasing costs are expected to boost the shares of the devices, while adding to the growth of the PC market.

The share of the Ultrabook and ultrathin PC devices accounted for 9% of total shipments of 213.3 million in 2012, which is expected to increase with total shipments rising to 241.6 million by the end of the year.

The discovery of the convertible PC with flexible or detachable display portion, which the reposition of display from a traditional notebook into a touchscreen tablet, has also impacted the share of Ultrathins.

The development of features including hand gestures, voice and near-field communication have made Ultrathins more preferable among consumers when compared to PCs.
