UK Professional Services Automation (PSA) provider Kimble Applications secured US$1.8m (£1.2m) in its latest round of funding from existing investors and Sussex Place Ventures, the VC arm of London Business School.

The funds will help the firm’s US expansion. The Salesforce partner is adding a Boston office to its Utah and Arizona presence.

Sean Hoban, CEO of Kimble Applications, said: "We’re pleased to have Sussex Place Ventures on board as an investor and their support will be invaluable in helping grow Kimble Applications. We have a well established customer base and across the world and are expanding our US operations."

Barnaby Terry, Managing Partner of Sussex Place Ventures, said: "There are several PSA solutions on the Salesforce platform, but the fact that Kimble is the only one that has been designed at the outset to scale from small to large organizations without the need for customizations really makes it stand out. It offers the best chance to attract the very largest organizations in competitive situations and so accelerate their growth, making Kimble an exciting company to invest in."

Kimble is compatible with the Salesforce platform and was named the most innovative application by Salesforce in 2014.

The Boston office will be led by Mark Robinson, Chief Marketing Officer who will drive growh on the US East Coast.
