UK IT budgets set to outpace rest of world

News: Most regions expect IT budgets to remain static.

By Alexander Sword

The UK is set to outpace other countries such as the US with the highest IT budget growth globally.

Nearly 40 percent of UK organisations expect to increase their IT budgets, according to research by Axios Systems.

This compared to only 7 percent of US organisations, 17 percent of organisations in the Benelux region of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg and 28 percent in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH).

The UK also had the smallest number of IT professionals expecting budgets to remain constant, with 33 percent. This compared to 47 percent in the US, 43 percent in the Benelux region and 56 percent in the DACH region.

Only 30 percent of UK organisations expect budgets to decrease, compared to 50 percent in the US and 31 percent globally.

In terms of industries, most budgets were expected to remain stable although the telecoms sector expected it to grow.

The research surveyed ITSM professionals from large enterprises with 500 to 5,000 employees in the UK, USA, Benelux and DACH regions.
