Trojan horse malware dominated the security threats last month, according to Sunbelt Software.
Six out of the top 10 detections in December were Trojans, which are being used to download malware such as bot installers and spyware that steal banking passwords.
Two new threats to enter the top ten were Fast Browser Search, where a browser toolbar add-on provided a search box and takes over all the default search setting of the browser and the Trojan.Win32.Malware. Dangerous web searches in December included “Brittany Murphy” which redirected browsers to sites selling rogues and “Tiger Woods car crash” which offered videos with Trojanised video viewers.
