Trend Micro has launched a new subscription-based hosted service offering Worry-Free Business Security Services, which includes a web-based console that enables small businesses to manage and monitor their computers, even those that are unconnected to the network.
The company said that its new offering sets up and installs in three steps, and facilitates partners to provide on-going services at zero cost for multiple customers from one interface. The USB device threat prevention feature blocks threats whenever USB drives are used, while its wireless network prevention feature protects users against potential hackers while accessing an unknown wireless network.
Trend Micro said that its smart protection network offers the infrastructure behind Worry-Free Business Security Services and combines internet-based technologies with lighter-weight, client-based methods.
According to Trend Micro, the new features in Worry-Free Business Security Service powered by smart protection network include, new smart scan, which lightens the memory load of computers by storing the majority of security technology on the web security server maintained by Trend Micro; and a new smart feedback with integrated feedback loops that provide communication between Trend Micro products and its threat research centre and technologies in a two-way update stream.
In addition, the new offering features a new behavior monitoring (analysis) technology that identifies any abnormal activity that indicates malicious behaviour.
Carol Carpenter, general manager of the consumer and small business units at Trend Micro, said: Worry-Free Business Security Services locks in success for both channel and customer. Channel partners gain increased margin and closer customer relationships. Customers get superior threat protection against the latest threats.
