Anti-virus software developer Trend Micro has agreed to buy Canada-based security and compliance software company Third Brigade. Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close in the second quarter, were not disclosed.
Trend Micro said Third Brigade’s products and technology will complement and extend its malware protection for dynamic datacenter environments. It said the acquisition will also give it a host-based intrusion defense system for protecting endpoints from zero-day malware. The companies have already collaborated on a firewall product that plugs into Trend Micro’s OfficeScan architecture.
When the acquisition is complete Third Brigade will change its name to Trend Micro Canada Technologies.
