Trend Micro, a provider of cloud-based security, and Tencent, an Internet-based service operator in China, have launched new Tencent QQ PC Manager tool.

The new Tencent QQ PC Manager tool 4.6 will be supported by Trend Micro’s malware detection and removal technologies.

The new offering will also incorporate Trend Micro’s host-based anti-malware technology, powered by the company’s Smart Protection Network cloud infrastructure.

Through the Smart Protection Network, Trend Micro scans, filters and correlates more than 50 billion emails, websites and files every day, and then leverages that data to identify and respond to emerging threats, and improve the existing response to known threats, said the company.

Trend Micro greater China chief development officer and executive vice-president Oscar Chang said that the company mission is to provide their customers with the protection against never-relenting, ever-evolving malware threats.

"We are very pleased to partner with Tencent and to offer hundreds of millions of Internet users in China the same technologies and service Trend Micro has been providing to countless individual and enterprise customers worldwide," Chang said.
