Trend Micro, a provider of Internet content security, has launched USB Security 2.0 an upgraded version of its USB Security product, which is designed to protect USB storage devices against malicious content in files that are often transferred by portable storage devices.

Trend Micro USB Security 2.0 provides protection against computer viruses, Trojans, spyware and worms through scanning, as well as automatic programme and pattern updates. It can be integrated with USB storage devices and is supported for Windows platform, the company said.

The company said that this USB Security scans and detects infections, and will automatically clean, remove and quarantine viruses and spyware.

The new USB Security 2.0 features real-time virus scan, auto-update on pattern files, and reference of logs, where it keeps a list of virus detection results where users can restore or delete any file on the quarantine list.

Currently, Trend Micro USB Security is found built into select storage devices by leading USB storage vendors.
