Toshiba has released a new MIPI-DSI to LVDS interface-converter bridge LSI for LCD display,s which can be deployed to convert interface between the main SoC and the LCD display of mobile devices including tablet PCs and Ultrabooks.

Claimed to reduce power consumption by 70% compared to existing products, the new line-up can support panel resolutions of about WUXGA (1920 x 1200 × 24bit @ 60fps).

The new product is aimed at changing the power supply operating voltage of the LVDS operating system from 3.3V to 1.8V, while reducing LSI’s power consumption.

Features of the new Interface Bridge includes maximum 1Gbps/lane link speed MIPI-DSI interface and maximum 945Mbps/lane linkspeed LVDS interface, while supports video formats such as RGB565/666/888.

Toshiba is planning to begin mass production of MIPI-DSI to LVDS interface-converter bridge LSI in March.
