Popular dating app Tinder has added a vanishing photo sharing feature called Moments, similar to Snapchat.

IAC/InterActiveCorp (IACI), creator of the app, believes that it will encourage users to use it more often. The new feature will let users to share their photos with their matches which will vanish after 24 hours.

Tinder said in a blog: "Moments are swipe-able photos you can instantly share with all of your matches at once."

"With Moments you can swipe through fun Moments shared by your matches and get a glimpse into each other’s lives."

"You can react by swiping right to "like" or left to "nope" a Moment, just as you would profiles, or you can take it one step further and reply with a message."

Tinder uses Facebook profiles and analyses user’s social interests to suggest potential matches based on geographical location.

"Tinder Moments expire in 24 hours, so you can be yourself without the pressure of making it perfect. You can just share it raw or apply filters, draw, and add text to you make the most of the moment," it added.

Despite claiming that it sees more than 850 million swipes and more than 10 million matches every single day, the 18-month-old app is yet to make money and is planning for monetisation opportunities to generate revenue.

It had already indicated earlier that it is looking for greater monetisation and expansion beyond its initial purpose of hooking up singles.

And with Moment, it will be Tinder’s first foray into social messaging, stepping beyond its dating base, as it faces competition from popular dating apps like OkCupid and new players like Hinge.
