Mobile network Three said its users no longer have to pay roaming charges in seven countries and will be allowed to use their price package as if they were at home.
Feel at Home allows users to call and text the UK and use the internet when travelling in Australia, the Republic of Ireland, Italia, Austria, Hong Long, Sweden and Denmark.
The service applies to any pay monthly, SIM only, pay as you go, mobile broadband or business tariff.
Should users exceed their allowance, calls, texts and data are charged at lower roaming rates of 20p per minute, 7p per text and 10p per MB, while
Users are also allowed to use Three-to-Three minutes to other users in the same Feel At Home country and there is no charge for receiving calls.
Thomas Malleschitz, marketing director at Three, said: "We want to make sure our customers have the best possible mobile experience. By abolishing expensive roaming charges in select countries we are allowing our customers to get even more value from their minutes, texts and data abroad by removing the fear associated with staying in touch while travelling."
The announcement comes 11 months before EU regulations, which aim to lower the cost of using a mobile phone in member countries.
Three also announced that it will launch its 4G network in December, which confirmed it wouldn’t be charging extra for the service.
