ThinkGrid, a provider of IT services platform from the Cloud, has launched a new encryption service to give users greater confidence in cloud adoption.
ThinkGrid said its new offering is powered by data loss prevention specialist Cryptzone, and can be purchased as part of a full portfolio of cloud services to encrypt all data that resides on or is taken from the company’s cloud platform.
ThinkGrid new offering that is based on AES 256 Bit encryption, addresses barrier of data security that prevents certain organisations from adopting cloud computing.
ThinkGrid said that it will offer its new service on a monthly, per user basis.
ThinkGrid Cloud Encryption protects all files including emails that are migrated to ThinkGrid’s Cloud platform rendering all this data inaccessible without the correct decryption keys.
The service is based on Cryptzone’s Data Leak Prevention solution and integrates AES 256 Bit encryption technology into a cloud platform.
ThinkGrid CEO Rob Lovell said their cloud platform has become a highly attractive alternative to on-premise IT, as it removes a significant amount of the IT management burden, as well as Capex investments in hardware and software.
"Nonetheless, there are certain organisations that want these advantages but are limited by compliance regulations. For example, healthcare organisations are governed by privacy laws around medical records, which strictly prohibit them from moving unencrypted data from their internal databases."Lovell said.
