Information systems and communications security company Thales has launched SafeSign Single Sign On product extending its authentication and ID management product line.
The company said the new product provides secure access to sensitive applications through authentication, requiring the user to identify himself only once at the start of a session.
According to Thales, the SafeSign Single Sign On allows different types of authentication to be presented to different user groups including static passwords, one-time password tokens, USB tokens, EMV/CAP cards and PKI smart cards.
With the new product users need just one identity credential and do not need to remember a number of different passwords which helps to reduce help-desk costs related to password management. It enables organisations to streamline the login experience without compromising security or impacting user productivity, the company claims.
