Tesco Bank embraces Apple Watch with banking app

Balance Peak feature allows users to view their accounts on the device.

By CBR Staff Writer

UK based Tesco Bank is the latest company to embrace the Apple Watch by updating its Banking App to offer ‘Balance Peek’ feature on Apple’s next generation device.

With the update, users will be able to view their account balance or add one of their accounts via Apple Watch, without having to log-into the Mobile Banking app.

Tesco Bank said that users will be provided with options for setting up the Balance Peek feature securely on their iPhone through the settings menu once they login to the Mobile Banking app.

Users will also be allowed to change the account they want to see at any point of time, or turn off the feature if they want, giving complete control of the account to the user.

With the updated app, users will be able to see the balance of a particular account by dragging down the Balance Peek ‘drawer’ on the login screen of their iPhone, and launching the Tesco Bank companion app on Apple Watch.

Tesco Bank Digital and Marketing director Grant Bourbousson said: "We aim to deliver a world-class digital banking experience for customers and we are delighted to offer one of the first banking apps on Apple Watch available in the UK.

"Balance Peek enables Tesco Bank customers to access their account balance quickly and easily and keep track of their finances wherever they are."
