Tenable launches Passive Vulnerability Scanner standalone product

PVS opened up to all companies wanting Tenable’s security.

By Duncan Macrae

Tenable Security Network has today announced that its Passive Vulnerability Scanner (PVS) will be available as a standalone product by the end of August.

Whereas beforehand, PVS was only available to Tenable’s Security Center and Security Center Continuous View customers, PVS will now be available to be used by any company who want to monitor their networks.

Ron Gula, CEO of Tenable, said: "A hacker only needs one pathway into your network. Not knowing what an unmanaged device is doing on your network is a security blind spot. By offering PVS as a standalone product, we are opening up the availability of our products to thousands of security and compliance professionals."

Tenable Passive Vulnerability Scanner continuously monitors IPv4/IPv6 network traffic for a variety of security-related information and can protect companies from the vulnerabilities of BYOD, virtual infrastructure and ‘Shadow IT’.
