Google has revealed the technical specifications of its upcoming wearable gadget Google Glass.

According to Google, the new gadget will feature a high resolution display that offers images equivalent to a 25-inch high definition screen from a distance of 8ft away.

The gadget will also be equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, in addition to a 5MP camera that allows capturing 720p videos.

The device, which can be worn above the user’s right eye, can be connected with the internet and offer further required information even with voice commands such as ‘take a picture’ or "search" will also enable recording and facilitate interaction.

Additionally, the new device incorporates Skype-like video chats as well as other related information including weather reports and map directions being displayed on a tiny screen attached to the Glass’rim in the top right of the users’ field of vision.

Offering storage of 12GB of usable memory, the device can also be synced with Google cloud storage and connected to any Bluetooth-enabled phone.

The MyGlass companion app,which allows GPS and SMS messaging, will be compatible only with Android 4.0.3 version or other higher versions MyGlass enables.

In addition, the device comes with adjustable nosepads, with Google offering additional nosepads in two sizes.

The hands-free internet-connected device also allows to sharing the captured content directly through email or social networks.

Google has also launched the test of Google Glass to creative individuals and developers, allowing them to discover ways of using the new gadget.

The new gadget will be assembled at Foxconn’s Santa Clara facility in California, US.

Google Glass is anticipated to be launched for the mass market by 2014.
