Sybase to power SaaS device management offering from MobiDM

Allow users to centrally install, secure and maintain mobile devices

By CBR Staff Writer

Sybase said that it is powering the Software as a Service (SaaS) device management offering from MobiDM. The mobile device management and security service, powered by Sybase Afaria and SQL Anywhere, enables users to centrally install, secure and maintain mobile devices.

Reportedly, MobiDM leverages technology from Sybase for its web-based console that automatically manages routine system management tasks across all major mobile operating systems. As a SaaS device management offering, it eliminates the need to install server infrastructure thereby accelerating implementation timelines and reducing the cost of mobile deployments.

Alex Bausch, founder and director of MobiDM, said: The beauty of MobiDM is that it’s a user friendly portal into Afaria, which is widely regarded as the leading device management solution. Not only can a business be up and running in as little as 15 minutes regardless of its size, but it can easily scale its mobility strategy as it develops. The low total-cost-of-ownership of SaaS applications, such as MobiDM, address these very issues.

Nigel Doust, VP of EMEA Sales at Sybase iAnywhere, said: The straightforward nature of MobiDM means that it’s an equally ideal tool for SMEs and enterprises alike. By using Afaria(R)’s comprehensive management capabilities, MobiDM simplifies multiple device management and complex security needs, whether a business has 50 or 5000 devices. Its ease-of-use and clear return on investment mean that MobiDM has a huge impact on the way that companies are approaching mobile device management.
