Swiss technology firm Kudelski’s subsidiaries OpenTV and Nagravision are suing Apple over allegedly infringing their video playback technology patents.
The latest suit adds to the extensive tech litigation in Apple’s copyright infringement war against chief rival Samsung.
In a lawsuit filed at the US District Court for the Northern District of California, both the Swiss sister firms allege that the iPhone maker infringed five of their patents and used them as its products and services.
According to the lawsuit Apple’s products, including their iOS-powered mobile devices, infringe on Kudelski’s patented technology. This includes the iPhone, iPad, and iPod, as well as Apple TV, App Store, iTunes, iADs, Safari, and OS X-based PCs.
