Enterprise Linux applications provider SUSE has released its Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 2 (SP2) for SAP Applications.

The new release uses an updated SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 SP2 platform and designed to increase the performance of compute and memory-intensive workloads, including those involving the SAP HANA platform.

It also supports the latest hypervisors, helping customers move physical workloads to virtual and cloud environments.

The new release includes updated Linux kernel 3.0 from SUSE that allows customers to run SAP applications on the new hardware platforms. It also includes new antivirus tool-kit integration that improves cross-platform threat detection.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2 for SAP includes enhancements to the installation wizard that eases configuration and set up of new versions of the SAP NetWeaver technology platform and Sybase applications from SAP.
