Surrey varsity selects CRYPTOCard offering to protect server, network

To secure access for 70 IT workers and 30 support staff at the university

By CBR Staff Writer

University of Surrey, a UK based university, has selected CRYPTO-MAS-CRYPTOCard’s two-factor authentication managed service to ensure that only authorised users can access its servers and network.

The university on the recommendation from partner Data Integration has selected the two-factor authentication managed service to reduce overheads and simplify management of the offering.

The new service will secure access for 70 IT workers and 30 support staff at the university.

CRYPTO-MAS secures the digital identities of authorised personnel through two-factor authentication, enabling the university to provide secure access to online resources including internal Web applications and services.

University of Surrey operations and network team leader Hilary Sherlock said that the offering has worked perfectly for them as it allows secure access to administer core systems of the university, such as the email system and importantly access to documentation stored on the network.
