STORServer unveils new backup and recovery offering for SharePoint

Allows users to back up their shared web-based workplaces

By CBR Staff Writer

STORServer, a provider of data backup offerings for the mid-market, has unveiled Agent for Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Microsoft SharePoint 6.1, which allows users to back up their shared web-based workplaces for better online collaboration.

The company said that its policy-based backup and recovery offering restores user’s Microsoft SharePoint business data and content after most business interruptions; and allows for faster backup and recovery of Microsoft SharePoint Portal 2003 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 environments.

The company claims that the new offering provides the ability to restore portals, top level sites, subsites and individual document libraries, attachments, lists, folders, areas and sub areas. In addition, it also enables users to schedule full, incremental or differential backup at the site-level, subsite-level, and item-level, and preserves all meta-data versions.

According to STORServer, the new features of version 6.1 include an enhanced business intelligence matrix, improved restore timeline and backup templates, coalescing incremental backups and a discovery dashboard and interface.
