StoredIQ launches information management assessment services

To provide visibility into unstructured data across enterprise

By CBR Staff Writer

StoredIQ, a provider of information management and eDiscovery technologies, has launched new assessment services, designed to provide visibility into unstructured data across the enterprise.

The company claims that the new services give organisations understanding of their business content to make informed decisions about the management, retention, and disposition of data. It allows organisations to discover and assess unstructured information across the industry’s data sources, including storage, email, archiving, content, document and record management systems, as well as remote desktop environments.

According to StoredIQ, the assessment services offers different types of assessments such as data topology assessment, litigation preparedness assessment, records management and retention assessment, PII risk and compliance assessment (PCI, GLBA, HIPAA, etc.) and custom assessment services.

The company said that the assessment services provide companies with insight into their electronically stored information (ESI) to develop risk mitigation and litigation readiness strategy and allows organisations to analyse data, as well as assess the risk around specific compliance, governance and eDiscovery mandates.

In addition, the new services provides companies with a view of all their corporate data, enabling them to make decisions affecting data management initiatives, including: storage capacity planning, data migration or hardware end-of-life projects, archiving design and deployments, non-business related data identification and purging, records retention management, and hierarchical storage management and reporting.

Assessment services include setup, installation and configuration of the StoredIQ appliance; indexing targeted data source volumes; and a detailed assessment analysis and report. Pre-packaged and custom data assessment services are available through StoredIQ or solution provider partners, StoredIQ said.

Ellis Ishaya, vice president of operations at StoredIQ, said: The exponential growth in data, coupled with a historically limited view into what data is under management translates into higher risk and costs to organisations. With StoredIQ’s assessment services, companies quickly gain a deep understanding of their information, allowing them to manage data to deliver real business value and cost savings.
