Sterling Commerce has launched version 5.0 of its Sterling Integrator, the next-generation of its flexible integration solution, to enable companies to gain a competitive advantage by ensuring their business processes are automated, streamlined, integrated and coordinated with those of their business partners.
The company said that Sterling Integrator 5.0 has several enhancements, including new communications and security capabilities, to ensure that companies can support the various requirements of their partners, and maximize the benefits of business-to-business (b2b) transactions without compromising their corporate security.
Sterling Integrator 5.0 also adds Sterling Community Manager, a new capability that reduces the cost, resources, and time involved in on-boarding and managing large and diverse trading partner communities.
According to the company, Sterling Integrator enables companies to orchestrate global supply chains and partner communities, despite differences in partner size, location and technology usage. Sterling Commerce expands those capabilities with the introduction of Sterling Community Manager, an application that helps companies reliably on-board, expand and manage their partner communities quickly, and with fewer resources.
The company also said that Sterling Integrator 5.0 adds several enhancements to its communications and security capabilities. It has added an enhanced web services stack and support for newer communications protocols such as IPv6, AS3 and OFTP v2.0. In its on-going efforts to support the highest levels of security, Sterling Integrator has extended its secure sockets layer support and further enhanced its password encryption and certificate handling.
