Sourcefire, a provider of cybersecurity offerings, said that its Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) now integrates with Citrix NetScaler to provide users with increased application availability and protection.

The company said the combination is delivered as integrated physical devices or virtual offerings residing on a single box. It helps businesses prevent operational disruptions caused by poor application performance due to increased workloads or security threats.

Sourcefire claimed that this integration will be especially beneficial to both companies’ channel programs, enabling resellers and partners to deliver the increased application availability capabilities.

John Burris, CEO at Sourcefire, said: "Working together, the Sourcefire IPS and Citrix NetScaler enable customers to proactively address issues that could impact the performance, availability and security of critical business applications.

"By combining Citrix’s application availability capabilities with Sourcefire’s application protection, we are empowering customers to better manage the performance and security of the assets that drive their businesses."
