Sophos revamps its Virus Removal Tool

The new tool works alongside an existing anti-virus installation

Security software firm Sophos has updated its free Virus Removal Tool, which helps user in removing viruses, spyware, rootkits and fake anti-virus programmes from Windows machines.

The new tool works alongside an existing anti-virus installation and supports the operating systems, including Windows XP, Vista and 7.

Sophos’ new Virus Removal Tool comes with an improved scan status information, faster scanning times and improved malware clean-up.

In addition, the new version offers options to run in safe mode, has ability to run on machines using proxy settings and also provides auto-update capabilities .
