Sophos said its recently released Sophos Mobile Control is compatible with Apple’s new mobile operating system iOS 6.
The revamped version of the Sophos Mobile Control will help the users to manage their Apple mobile devices like iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch which run on iOS 6.
Sophos said the features in the revamped application will include: hide passbook on locked devices, disable shared photo streams, disable the sync of last used e-mail addresses with iCloud, manage the lifetime of profiles on mobile devices, route all traffic through a global HTTP proxy.
Sophos Mobile Control also claims to offer secure web browsing and web filtering on iOS 6 devices through its Secure Web Appliance.
The company said it is planning to release this new offering for Complete Mobile Security on iOS, covering Mobile Device Management, Mobile Encryption, Mobile E-Mail Management and Mobile Web Security soon.
In June this year, Apple had unveiled its mobile operating system, iOS 6 introducing over 200 new features including its own mapping service and improved search capabilities of its Siri voice assistant.
Sophos had earlier this month introduced the hosted version of its mobile device management (MDM) application, Sophos Mobile Control as a Service.
The new application is based on Sophos Mobile Control 2.5 and allows businesses to deploy an MDM application without any changes to their existing IT infrastructures.
