Sony releases water-resistant Xperia Z smartphone

The new smartphone is capable of being dipped in water of up to 3.3ft

Sony has released its new Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) powered Xperia Z smartphone, which it claims is dust and water resistant. durable glass display.

According to the firm, the new smartphone can be under water for approximately 30 minutes.

Features of the new smartphone include a 5" Full HD 1080p Reality Display, 13-megapixel fast-capture camera, a Micro SD slot and 4G LTE.

The smartphone’s razor sharp Reality Display, which is powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, is aimed at offering enhanced TV experience to the smartphone, while delivering an immersive viewing experience with improved brightness and clarity.

The new phone comes with a Battery STAMINA Mode, which automatically shuts down battery-draining apps when the screen is off and starts them up again when the screen is back on.

The Xperia Z smartphone also incorporates a near field communication (NFC) chip that allows streaming content to the firm’s latest TVs.
