Sony releases apps that can work underwater

The apps are available for free at Google Play Store.

By CBR Staff Writer

Sony has launched six underwater gaming apps for Xperia Z1S, and Xperia Z smartphones.

Users can download the games from a special section of Google Play Store, which is dedicated to the underwater games.

The games are specially designed to work underwater, and they are Sony’s attempt at showing off its water resistance capability.

The games include Goldie, Tiny Umbrella, Platimal, Sink Sunk and Rainy-oke and Photo Lab, all having features that work underwater.

The detector generates a high frequency test tone, and records the sound transmission with the two microphones on the Xperia Z1S and Xperia Z smartphones. It then generates spectrograms with different values allowing the smartphone to establish its state – water or air.

Sony has also released the developer code to encourage developers to create similar apps that would work under water.
