Smith Micro Software, a developer of software offerings and services for the mobility market, has reported total revenues of $31.4m, for the second quarter of 2010, an increase of 21% compared to $26m for the same period last year.

The company posted an operating income of $4m for the second quarter of 2010, compared to $3m for the same period last year.

For the second quarter ended June 30, 2010, the company reported a net income of $2m, compared to $1.3m for the same quarter a year ago. Net income per diluted share increased marginally to $0.05 from $0.04per share for year ago quarter.

William Smith Jr, president and CEO of Smith Micro Software, said: "Our wireless and mobility unit continued to be the strong growth driver for the Company as revenues increased 33% over last year, and we saw strength across all products categories within this business segment.

"In addition to achieving solid revenue growth and strong earnings, we continued to build a market leading mobile software portfolio designed to help us meet the demand for mobile broadband services in the coming years."

The company expects revenues for the fiscal year 2010 to be in the range of $125m to $135m.
