Your voice is your signature

Voice Commerce extends Voice Pay facility to TV adverts

By CBR Staff Writer

Voice Commerce Group has launched VoicePay TV that enables consumers to order a product over the phone after watching an advertisement on the TV or IPTV. The unique feature of the service is that buyers can make a secured purchase transaction by signing it with their voice.

Businesses that subscribe VoicePay TV service can place the VoicePay logo, free-phone number and unique VoicePay product code on their TV advertisements. This will help consumers to call up the free phone number and order the product by citing the unique code. They can authorise the transaction with their voice signature.

Consumers can create a free VoicePay account with their unique voice signature. The account consists of the buyer’s voice biometrics and their purchasing history, trends and location patterns.

Voice Commerce says that the voice biometrics eliminates the risks of phishing and ID theft as the consumers need not enter their credit or debit card details when they purchase goods. With the VoicePay account, consumers can buy products from anywhere. A nominated credit or debit card linked to their voice signature is used to make payments.

VoicePay TV, which supports any type of payment including e-commerce and mobile commerce, can be subscribed by businesses at GBP150 per year. There are no transaction charges for the first GBP10,000 worth of sales. The VoicePay network covers over 50 countries and is integrated with the Visa and MasterCard networks.

Nick Ogden, founder of Voice Commerce Group and Voice Pay TV said: VoicePay TV helps integrate the sales link between video broadcasting and your customers, changing the dynamics of business and creating a real opportunity in video advertising. Our Voice Signatures overcome the challenges of using other payment tokens or mechanisms because they do not require additional devices, passwords or pins and, after all, consumers now carry their own voices as well as their mobile phone wherever they go.

Voice Pay, the voice-verified payment processing system, was launched in the first half of 2007 for mobile and internet payments. It incorporates VoiceVault voice biometric authentication technology.
