A new mobile messaging app has launched which is claimed to be far more secure service than WhatsApp.

Secure Haze, available now for Android, iOS, Mac and Windows Phone devices, allows users to securely and privately message and share pictures over an internet connection. It offers sharing messages, files, regular voice and video without any cost, while secure voice and video can sent by paying a small fee.

Incorporating secure messaging, voice and video calling, and file/picture sharing, the Liechtenstein-based company claims its app will allow secure communications from any device anywhere, without fear of snooping by others.

To add in an extra level of security, the app also contains encyrption over peer-to-peer technology, utilising end-to-end military grade 2048 bit encryption to keep conversations secret between user and the intended recipient.

Secure Haze also claimed it does not use any central servers like other messaging apps preventing mobile operators accessing the messages.

The company’s CEO said that the new app allows users to carry on conversations without the worries of having any other people listening in, saying it offered "the highest levels of encryption" to ensure messaging, voice, video and file sharing would be secure on any device.

WhatsApp, which was acquired by Facebook for a massive $19bn last month, is currently the market leader when it comes to instant messaging apps. However the service does reportedly have some serious security issues, and its acqusition byFacebook, which is heavily involved with advertising to its users, as well as suffering allegations of spying on user data and conversations, has raised concerns amongst many customers.
