A possible Android 5.1 Lollipop could be on the horizon following a screen shot of Android Lollipop MR1, or Maintenance Release 1, being displayed by two Android developers at the Devoxx conference in Belgium.

The developers were using a Google Nexus 5 handset during the presentation, which was running on Android 5.0 Lollipop MR1.

Android World was cited by Among Tech as saying that "Maintance Release" versions are the first signs of Android 5.1. As Android 2.0 MR1 became Android 2.1 Honeycomb, Android 3.0 MR1 went out to become Android 3.1, and Android 4.3 MR1 eventually became Android Kit Kat.

The screenshot does not reveal details of the Android version, but it is likely that 5.1 will be called "Lollipop" and is not expected to have many changes from the current version.

However, Google has not yet completed rolling out Lollipop 5.0 to all devices, as it has just started rolling out the update to Nexus 5, Nexus 7, Moto G and Moto X.
