By Vinod

Japanese company ChatPerf has released a smartphone aroma alert system, which will emit fragrance to notify users about calls and messages.

The add on can be plugged into the headphone port and loaded with a choice of perfumes which gives scent notifications.

Available for $5, the smell dongle has a scent cartridge with fragrant liquid which can last up to 100 sprays.

The system is controlled by an Android or iOS and is currently available with five fragrances: rose, lavender, coffee, rosemary and strawberry.

More fragrances are to be added later.

Earlier available in Japan only, the system can now be ordered around the world in about 120 countries.
