SAS Data Integration recognised for completeness of vision, ability to execute.

By Claire Vanner

SAS has been positioned in the Leaders quadrant in Gartner’s latest Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools.

SAS aims to enable organisations to collect, manage and integrate data from across the enterprise, delivering a more accurate view of customers, products and more. SAS Data Integration technologies meet the full spectrum of enterprise data integration needs with data access, ETL and ELT, data quality, data governance and an interactive data integration development environment. Gartner evaluated SAS on functionality, integration capabilities, global market presence and product road map.

"Leaders have significant mind share in the market, and resources skilled in their tools are readily available," Gartner stated in the report. "These vendors establish market trends, to a large degree, by providing new functional capabilities in their products, and by identifying new types of business problems to which data integration tools can bring significant value."

Wai-Fung Yuk, assistant director, Hong Kong Efficiency Unit, said: "This is new for the Efficiency Unit: deploying transformative software from SAS to help us transform government services to better serve our citizens.

"SAS software will allow us to examine large amounts of complaint data and rapidly draw insights to make informed decisions. No matter how much data is involved, time to insight is crucial."

Efficiency Unit senior leaders will be able to view charts and graphs depicting the data via desktop computers or mobile devices, whichever they prefer.

Organisations face data challenges ranging from complex, Big Data sets to increased needs for transparency and visibility.
