SAP and Microsoft have announced their plans to improve integration between SAP software and Microsoft virtualisation and cloud computing technologies.

The plan includes innovations to people-centric apps development for SAP software, virtualisation and cloud computing without disrupting customer IT landscapes.

Both companies plan to make business processes from SAP software more easily consumed and extended by .NET developers, and simplify the overall app development process.

In addition, Microsoft and SAP are planning to provide integration between upcoming landscape management software from SAP, Microsoft System Centre and Windows Server Hyper-V technology, to provide agility for cloud management and deployments.

SAP technology and innovation member of the executive board Vishal Sikka said that building on the successful partnership with Duet Enterprise, SAP and Microsoft plan to offer interoperability and a native development experience, so that a .NET developer can easily build applications in visual studio that run across the SAP and Microsoft platforms.

The new interoperability layers are expected to provide visual studio integration and Windows Azure SDK for SAP NetWeaver Gateway.

The companies also plan to integrate upcoming landscape management software from SAP with Microsoft Windows Server Hyper-V and Microsoft System Centre.

The integration will instill enhanced flexibility, scalability and management in the cloud all while reducing cost and risk, the company claimed.
