Samsung has unveiled its new Galaxy S5 smartphone in efforts to maintain its lead in the global smartphone market.
The new smartphone, which boasts a larger 5.1in FHD Super AMOLED screen, will be powered by a 2.5GHz Quad core application processor, and runs on Google’s Android 4.4.2 (Kitkat) OS.
There is a fingerprint sensor, something already offered on Apple’s latest iPhone, as well as other technologies including a heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, Hall, RGB ambient light, Gesture(IR).
Samsung IT & Mobile Communications Division president and head JK Shin said: "Consumers are looking for mobile tools that inspire and support them as they improve their everyday lives.
"The Galaxy S5 represents an iconic design with essential and useful features to focus on delivering the ultimate smartphone on the market today through people inspired innovation."
