South Korea-based Samsung Electronics has collaborated with the US-based mobile security software provider Lookout to bundle mobile security application from Lookout with Knox security suite for enterprise on all Android phones.
Under the collaboration, Samsung plans to make the KNOX platform compatible with Android and the Google ecosystem as well as offer fundamental security and management enhancements that support both BYOD and Corporate-Liable models.
Lookout for KNOX will offer real-time, cloud-based scanning to protect Andorid phones against mobile threats from email attachments, web browsing, and any type of file sharing services.
Samsung Electronics KNOX Business Group senior vice president Injong Rhee said that Lookout provides mobile threat protection through attachment scanning and safe browsing in order to address business mobile security and the evolving challenges in the BYOD movement.
"We’re excited to partner with Lookout to bring an additional level of security to Samsung KNOX," Rhee added.
Lookout CEO John Hering said, "Protection against mobile threats for devices in the workplace is critical, and we’re excited to announce we’re expanding to address the unique needs of businesses."
Lookout will also introduce protection against mobile threats for businesses and also plans to introduce Lookout for Business later this year.
