Samsung has launched the new Galaxy Round smarttphone, which is claimed to be the world’s first device with a curved display.

The new Samsung Galaxy Round comes with a 5.7" Full HD Super AMOLED display, which has a slight horizontal curve, offering additional comfortable grip compared to other flat-screen models available.

The Galaxy Note variant runs on Google’s Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system incorporated in Samsung’s latest TouchWIz user interface.

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, together with a 2.3GHz quad-core Krait CPU, the new device features 3GB of RAM, 32GB of in-built memory, and MicroSD card slot in addition to a rear 13MP camera, a 2MP front-facing unit and a connectivity suite.

Other features of the new curved display smartphone include a tilt function that enables checking information including missed calls and battery life, even when its home screen remains off, while media files can be accessed by tapping the screen’s right or left.

The South Korean firm has added some features to make use of the curved screen of the device, such as Bounce UX to control music player by tapping on sides, while the Gravity Effect would allow interaction with the display by rolling it.
