Samsung goes with the Flow – takes inspirtaion from Apple’s continuity feature

Flow will allow users to move videos, calls and notifications from Samsung devices

By CBR Staff Writer

Samsung has announced a new software platform called Flow, which enables users to simply transition tasks from one device to another.

Flow will allow users to move videos, calls and notifications from Samsung devices including smartphones, tablets, computers, smartwatches and TV sets – a feature similar to Apple’s continuity feature between iOS and OS X Yosemite.

According to Samsung, Flow is expected to work in three parts which includes: "Transfer" where users will be able to work, read, and move calls between Samsung devices, "Defer" which will pause tasks, and "Notify" which will show notifications across all of the connected devices.

Samsung has not given the official release date of Flow, but it did offer a SDK preview of the software to developers. Initially, the platform will be available in limited Samsung devices and then gradually rolled out to its other devices.
