Cloud services provider Salesforce.com has reported revenue of $584m for the third quarter of 2011, a 36% increase compared to the previous year’s same quarter.
The majority part of the revenue was contributed by $549m revenues from Subscription and support services, up 36% year-on-year, while the rest was contributed by professional services and other revenues.
The third quarter GAAP net loss per share was $0.03, and non-GAAP diluted earnings per share increased 6% year-over-year to $0.34, said the company.
Salesforce.com chairman and CEO Marc Benioff said Salesforce.com is the first enterprise cloud computing company to exceed $2.3bn annual revenue run rate.
"And today, we’re excited to announce that we expect to reach a $3bn annual revenue run rate during our fiscal year 2013," Benioff said.
The company generated cash of $129m from operations for the fiscal third quarter, up 74% on a year-over-year basis, while total cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities finished the quarter at approximately $1.3bn.
Salesforce.com expects revenue for the fourth fiscal quarter to be in the range of approximately $620m to approximately $624m.
