Enterprise cloud computing firm Salesforce.com has appointed JP Rangaswami to the newly created position of Chief Scientist.
Rangaswami has 30 years of technology experience with large multinational companies and has earlier worked with BT in London for four years where most recently he served as Chief Scientist of the BT Group.
In his new role, Rangaswami will report to company’s chairman and CEO Marc Benioff.
Rangaswami will help European customers think about innovative ways to use the real-time, mobile and social capabilities provided by Salesforce apps and the Force.com platform.
He also will contribute to the company’s product strategy and promote the benefits of cloud computing globally.
