RSA Insurance embraces Good BYOD in Latin America

Good Enterprise Suite allows RSA employees to work on the go.

By CBR Staff Writer

London based general insurance company RSA Insurance Group has adopted a bring-your-own-device (BYOD) strategy for its Latin America division with the help of Good Technology‘s Good Enterprise Suite.

The Good Enterprise Suite is an enterprise mobility management (EMM) and BYOD solution that includes mobile application management, mobile device management and Good for Enterprise app.

The Suite offers businesses optimised features including one- tap conference dialling, calendar reply and forwarding, availability information, and secure browser integration.

With Good Enterprise Suite installed, RSA employees are being able to use their own iOS or Android devices at the workplace, and securely access, share, and input sensitive customer information in a simple manner.

Good highlighted that around 600 RSA employees in Latin America have been able to securely read and reply to emails on the go, which also helps embrace RSA’s top corporate values, which includes customer obsession and being a great place to work.

The suite also makes it easy to open email attachments and edit presentations through Good-secured apps created by independent software vendors (ISVs), which includes iAnnotate for Good – an app that allows users to easily read, mark-up, and share PDFs, and document-editing app ShareFile QuickEdit for Good.

According to RSA Insurance Latin America regional infrastructure manager Jorge Martillo, automatic calendar synchronisation between the mobile device and desktop, and Good Share, a feature that lets users to securely access sensitive documents on file servers have already gained popularity amongst employees.

RSA did previously adopt a BYOD strategy by opting for a secure smartphone solution by another security provider, but it failed to provide a simple user experience and had reliability problems, which forced the company to look for an alternative.

According to Good Technology, its secure container solution addresses the security and privacy concerns of the insurance provider and has been improving productivity by letting employees use the devices of their choice.

Martillo said: "Good’s solution was key to introducing BYOD since we found it to be the easiest to deploy and use, which made both our employees and our technical team very happy.

"We were able to deploy the Good Enterprise Suite in just two weeks and it has become a mission-critical application that saves time and allows us to respond to customers faster – a valued component of our company’s customer obsession."
