Rolls-Royce is set to move its HR operations to the cloud with Workday.

The firm hopes the deal with the human capital management (HCM) specialist will give it greater visibility into its 55,000-strong workforce as it seeks to underpin future growth.

It will use Workday HCM and Workday Time Tracking to standardise HR processes across business units worldwide as well as streamline operations to boost efficiencies.

Meanwhile it aims to help managers measure staff performance more accurately, recognise talent and identify any gaps in ability between different locations.

They will be able to use Workday’s HR application via mobile devices as well as desktops, as the company seeks to ensure the managers have greater access to information.

Rolls-Royce hopes the ability to analyse data on its workforce in real-time will lead to better decision-making on hiring and resource allocation as it concentrates on capturing more of the market for aerospace and Marine and Industrial Power Systems (MIPS) engines.

Workday EMEA president Chano Fernandez said: "With Workday HCM, Rolls-Royce will gain greater visibility into its workforce with insights that can help inform planning and decision making, while giving employees greater self-service capabilities."

The news comes after Adobe added its e-signature technology into Workday HCM earlier this week.
