Robocoin has announced plans to set up Bitcoin ATMs in Seattle.
The kiosks are expected to also be installed in Austin, and they verify identities by scanning driving licenses and other photo IDs.
The machines would enable users to exchange Bitcoin for cash as well as depositing cash to buy more bitcoins by transferring funds through a virtual wallet via their smartphones.
Previously, Robocoin had installed its first Bitcoin ATM in Vancouver during autumn 2013.
The company is planning to start operations at another ATM in Calgary, Alberta during late February 2014, while it also plans to install more ATMs in Asia and Europe.
Bitcoin exchange manager Bitstamp has reportedly restored automated customer withdrawals, after they were stopped for four days because of a hacking attack that affected various platforms, which supported the exchange of digital currency.
Bitstamp said unforeseen incidents like a flaw affecting the Bitcoin protocol are to be expected with such a young technology.
"The core protocol remains sound and the world has seen how these incidents are addressed by the Bitcoin community," Bitstamp added.
"Every challenge that is successfully overcome is a milestone that allows the world to grow their confidence in Bitcoin."
