Ricoh Americas, a provider of digital office equipment, has launched Aficio MP 2851 and MP 3351 Digital Imaging Systems, suitable for small and mid-sized businesses.
According to Ricoh, the MP 2851 and MP 3351 feature colour scanning capabilities and document storage, as well as print speed of 28 pages-per-minute (ppm) with the MP 2851. The MP 2851 and MP 3351 also features technology that provides a customised user experience with Personal Paperless Document Manager (PPDM) and App2Me.
The company said that the PPDM enables users to capture, combine, convert and share three different document types including paper, PDF and Microsoft Office files. It allows users to send paper and electronic files to virtually any destination including email, FTP sites, web folders and content management systems.
With PPDM, paper originals can be transformed into Microsoft Office documents or converted into WAV audio files. It also creates custom workflows for users, displaying a personalised view through the interface at their workstation. In addition, data from fillable forms can be extracted into a .csv file for analysis, Ricoh said.
The company said that the new imaging systems help administrators to restrict access to only authorised users. The locked print feature security function allows users to protect documents from unauthorised parties. Customers can also use the data overwrite security system to prevent the possibility of reconstructing data from latent images on the internal hard drive.
In addition, the new system include an external keyboard for data entry when configured with eCopy or GlobalScan NX offerings, as well as finishing options including a 1,000-sheet booklet finisher with optional hole-punching. These models also include features such as full-colour VGA control touch panel and animated menu guidance.
The MP 2851 and MP 3351 come standard with monochrome printing and copying, plus colour and black-and-white scanning capabilities.
