RES Software, a developer of dynamic desktop solutions and a member of the Microsoft Managed ISV Partner program and the Microsoft System Center Alliance, has expanded a decade-long relationship with Microsoft against the backdrop of Microsoft Management Summit 2011.

The new multi-year strategic commitment to the Microsoft System Center family of products unifies Windows Client and Microsoft desktop virtualization deployments with proven RES workspace management and automation capabilities.

RES said by using its workspace and automation capabilities in conjunction with Microsoft System Center products, organizations can ensure a consistent IT management and end-user experience across the various Microsoft delivery architectures.

IT management will have the ability to deploy, configure and secure applications and services through a single console using any combination of Microsoft delivery technologies, such as System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) and Remote Desktop Services.

End-users will be able to take advantage of a unified, personalized and secure workspace that can be accessed anywhere regardless of device or delivery approach, according to RES.

RES Software CEO Klaus Besier said RES is confident that its workspace and automation functionalities will deliver increased flexibility and improved management to System Center customers as they navigate through increasingly complex IT infrastructures.

Microsoft director of business strategy, management and security division Christian von Burkleo said the workspace management and automation capabilities from RES Software allow customers to support complex user personalization and security requirements.

"App-V in conjunction with RES Software Workspace Manager can provide customers with increased flexibility and lower help-desk costs," Von Burkleo said.
